I'm not sure if "Pinwheels" are the correct term or label or name for these Vegan Cream Cheese Apps and Snacks but here they are. I was chatting with 2 blogging buddies about them recently - for completely different reasons - and I figured I would do a quick blog post about them.
I tend to make these for Christmas Eve/Christmas Day. I've also made them for potlucks in the past and maybe a Superbowl or two. Essentially, they are Cream Cheese filled Tortillas (Soft Shell Tacos/Burritos).
All I do is lay the Tortilla out flat and spread Vegan Cream Cheese out evenly to cover. I then tightly roll it up and then roll it in foil...it helps hold it together until I'm ready to cut them and plate them.
When that time comes I unwrap the foil and cut them into "coins" which look like circles or pinwheels - I guess - and then I plate them. You can use all sorts of different flavors of cream cheese and I love to dip them into salsa.
I'm pretty sure some of you have also done these before, too, let me know, and let me know if you have a different method or like different dips to accompany them.
