The last 2 trips to my local ALDI I saw 2 products from Loma including this Taco Filling. I have yet to try it but the first time I saw it - I bought it - and I bought another one over the weekend - just to have on hand. I hope it's good.
The other product of theirs that I saw and bought 2 of over the course of 2 trips was this Spicy Pad Thai. I had my first one yesterday. I can't say that I LOVED it. I do have another package and will eat it somehow - I might tweak it or add it to something tho. It was 90% TVP, 10% Noodles, and 10% veggies & spices. I would have liked it more if it had less (or no) TVP or if their used something else in its place to be honest.
Friday - I had to travel for work - after I was finished at that office - I went to a Whole Foods Co-Op. It's not the Whole Foods Market chain but a Cooperative/Member-Owned shop that I try to visit while in town. This was the first time I saw Kite Hill Sour Cream there so I had to grab it. I haven't tried it YET but maybe tonight or tomorrow.
Friday Night there was a VERY strange aroma outside of my home. We live near a refinery - but - we usually don't smell it at our house. This time - we did - so I knew something was wrong. I found out moments ago that they had equipment failure and that is what caused the issue. They claim it's not a threat to human health but I question it.
We have been dealing with more extreme weather. LOTS of rain and meltage of snow and ice. It's caused flooding - one of the places being in our basement. This caused our water heater tank pilot light to go out and we didn't have hot water again. We have been sub-pumping as much as possible and then restarting the pilot once it's 'dried out' only to have to do it again because of more flooding and/or high winds. It's been frustrating to say the least.
This past weekend I was finally able to spend time with my adorable niece after not seeing her for several weeks. We played games - including cards and "restaurant".
I don't want to jinx it but COVID numbers have been getting a little lower so that's nice. I hope that continues.
Due to the weather and the refinery I have been battling sinus pressure lately. Today I have been filling a bit uncomfortable, too, some pain issues but that happens from time to time. Also for the last week I have been fighting dental discomfort and I think it's because I grind my teeth at night and also have been eating foods that have been irritating my gums - such as crispy toast/crusty-crust, etc. I have been trying to combat it with Coconut Oil, Mouth Washes and Rinses, and such. I really do NOT want to have to deal with the dentist right now.
Tomorrow - our local Vegan Dinner Group is supposed to meet again. I'm not overly excited about the meeting place and offering this month but I might just just to be supportive.
