This is a pt. 2 to my previous post.  If you want to see the actual CAVES of Penn's Caves - take a look HERE.  In this post - it will be around the outside of the caves, some of the other things that you could see and do there including this walk thru the grounds leading up to the cave.  My niece is pictured here with an owl sculpture that you could move with a lever.  Trinity wanted Papa to buy it.  Of course that wasn't somthing we could do but I thought it was funny she said that.

Here's a close up of the owl itself.  SO COOL.  There were some other sculpture, metalworkings, and such around there, too, that were pretty neat.

You could also go gemstone mining.  I thought that Trinity would LOVE this but my Dad and I enjoyed it more than her.  I did find some neat stones that day and ever since I have been adding to my collection.

Sifting!  And more Sifting!  In front of where my father is standing is also a maze that we all walked thru.

This building was also right on the grounds.  It holds their corporate offices now but used to be a 30-room hotel that was built in 1885.  It was open to overnight guests until 1919.  From 1920 to 1929 they only served meals there while the rest of the building continued to be a ticket center and gift shop.  They do still have a gift shop but it's located in a separate building to the left of this one.

Here's the historic sign with a little bit more info.  I also read that in 1938 the north wing was removed.  There was an addition in the 1960's and then in the 1980's it became a private residence after the current visitors center was built.

It was a FUN DAY!  I really hope that we are able to do more stuff like this - this year!
