The Purple Doorknob is located in Ellicottville, NY, and is a high end sock shop. Yes, I said, a high end sock shop. Then again, nearly EVERYTHING in Ellicottville, NY, is high end, as it gears towards those who frequent for both winter and summer outdoor sports, beer and wine snobs, and other tourists. Don't get me wrong - this town has an AWESOME thing going! They are always busy and there are not many weeks that go by where something isn't happening.
Eventho I didn't purchase anything from this store - I still thought it was worth a mention. I mean - why wouldn't I highlight a small business that has a groovy name, door, sign, color scheme, and shtick? This place was just FUN and totally worth a visit - even if you are just window shopping.
I've blogged about Ellicottville before and I will certainly be blogging about it again. It's just a nice area and not that far from where I live to do a nice day trip there. The last several times I did go there was with either my parents and/or my parents, sister, and niece.
