Just when I think Spring is on the horizon - we get more snow and cold temps. These first few photos aren't from too long ago. At the moment we can see grass BUT when I left the house this morning is was 8 degrees. We are supposed to see temps in the upper 50s and even upper 60s over the weekend...time will tell if that actually happens.
As you might have noticed - the first photo is one of our bigger churches in downtown. This second photo is of our historic Conewango Club - also in downtown. I might save the historical info for a post down the road.
This 3rd photo is another historical building where I live. I'm thinking about incorporating more posts on my blog that contain historical stuff in them. Would any of you be interested in that by chance?
This one was taken about a month ago or so - maybe more - heck, I don't know - my days/nights, weeks/months are running together at this point. It was sent to me from one of our caregivers and was taken near Corry, PA.
In a way this is sort of an Odds & Ends or another Mish-Mash post. Maybe even a photo dump! Regardless - here is a photo of Cricket. I went into the kitchen for just a few moments and when I returned she pulled my pillow off the sofa and climbed into the pillow case.
Doesn't she seem pretty pleased with herself? Since she is the only remaining furkid in our home she has been doing some really weird stuff the last couple of months...even weird for her.
I still have this piece of art that I this was originally my father's. It's one of the "Little Ones" paintings by Walter Keane. Well, it's says it was done by Walter Keane but later in his life the world found out that his wife Margaret Keane was actually the painter NOT him.
I have always LOVED this painting and that was even before I knew the story behind the lies! Margaret had the last laugh because courts found him guilty and he owed her 4 million dollars in damages.
Here's a pic of one of my many variations of Vegan Macaroni Salad. This one isn't that involved, really, just Vegan Mayo and Celery with the macaroni.
I've done Crispy Tofu in my air fryer several times now and I think this attempt was the best one yet. I hope to get the recipe down a little tighter before posting but I think the photo came out pretty good.
One thing my mother and I veganized in 2020 were her Zuchini Squares. We wanted to do them again last year but I dragged my feet and didn't realize that we had run out of Zukes in the garden. This year - I will have to make sure we do them again. I want to have them for camp, too.
I was going to save these photos for it's own post but I don't have the recipe handy at the moment so maybe in near future I will post one with the recipe. Have you done these before?
These turned out SO GOOD!!! I used "Just Egg" for the veganized version of this family fave.
Last night - I finally watched a movie - by myself. I'm waiting for SCREAM to hit Paramount Plus later this month since wasn't able to see it in the theatre. While I'm waiting for that - I spotted FREE GUY with Ryan Reynolds and decided to watch it. I get a kick out of Ryan's humor and this movie totally fit that. It was fun, funny, clever, and the visual effects were really something!
