Make Gratitude a Daily Habit

Thankful...

There are several things I hope to do with this blog.  One of them is to blog about things I am thankful for.  A nice way to keep track of them.  And remember them.  I have been reading up on Gratitude as a whole.  Research has shown that the practice correlates to an increase in experience of positive emotions and reduction of negative ones.  Increased optimism is certainly something we could all get in to - that's for sure.  Studies have also shown that it helps reduce stree and anxiety, enhances your physical health, improves your relationships, and more!

So I wanted to see about not only writing these down and keeping track of them, but I also wanted to dig a little deeper.  Techniques to make the most out of this practice include - but are not limited to - getting your family and friends involved...it's a great way to connect during a meal...like around the dinner table at the end of the day.  Since I don't eat around a dinner table I thought this was a better way to fit my lifestyle.

The key is - remembering to do it!  I have tried this several times and start off great and then "not so much".  Maybe this time will be different.  One idea is to put a sticker on my laptop.  Seems simple enough.

Do you keep a Gratitude Journal?  What are your tips, tricks, techniques, cues?

Today, I'm grateful for this blog.  I have missed it over the last 2 year blog break.  I think I needed to unplug, start fresh, and miss it...if that makes sense.  I've always enjoyed writing throughout my life and since I have switched careers I haven't been doing much of that.

Also since I left radio and moved over to Business Development for a Home Health Care company just before a pandemic hit - I have been spending many work days alone - unless - of course - I am doing interviews, orientations, or trainings...assessments, home visits, committee/board meetings, etc.  So I guess that means I have had a lot of time to think.  And all of these thoughts have been building up.  I need somewhere to put them.

But since starting from scratch I have found a lot of my old blogging buddies are no longer blogging and I have to meet some new bloggers out there.  This could be good but also challenging.

I used to want to see at least 1 comment on each of my blog posts but I don't think that is realistic this time around.  I need to get away from that way of thinking and be happy for a place to call my own again.

One thing I really like with this platform - Strinkingly - is that they give you stock photos to use in your posts.  For those of you that know me - you know I LOVE taking photos - but - I'm finding that I like what they have to offer for filler.

So these are just a few things I am thankful for today.  How about you?
