I don't usually eat "sweets" - mostly because I can 'do without' - and don't have a sweet tooth - but I don't mind trying them when they are available. That - and I don't bake in the slightest - so that helps.
Several years ago I wrote for a website that no longer exists and developed and posted about recipes I had tried. This Avocado Cacao Mousse was one of them. Back then I also acquired an insane amount of Cacao products and that is what inspired this recipe.
I ended up using the following:
1 Avocado
2 Tablespoons Cacao Powder
2 T Agave Nectar
1 Squirt Vegan Chocolate Syrup
Optional/On Top: Strawberry Agave Syrup
A few notes: I ended up freshly grounding (grinding?) in my spice grinder (which is basically a coffee grinder). You could probably make your own Strawberry Agave by blending together Agave and Strawberries. Or you could top with something different - like fresh fruit and/or coconut instead. I don't know how critical the Chocolate Syrup is to this recipe, honestly, you could use Agave in the first part of the recipe, or vegan chocolate chips, or powder, or try omitting it altogether. It just might be more of a dark chocolate flavor VS a sweeter flavor. Let me know if you try it or a version of it.
