It's getting to the point where I'm not sure what I have posted about and what I haven't. My days and nights are running together. It's been busy, busy - non-stop! Sorry if some of this has been talked about already. Lengthy posts to come! I'll start this post off with a bit of food. This Nepali Power Bowl was from several months ago, actually. The flavor was unique. It had a tomato and red pepper base with spices. Those Tofu chunks were nicely done. I believe I got this over at Erie Whole Foods Co-Op.
This past spring I was lucky enough to meet Cindy Henson who traveled to Ukraine. She stopped by our little town while traveling thru it. Her and her partner are RVing and traveling a lot and they took a break to help over in Ukraine a while back. She is a bright light in this world, that's for sure. It was such a joy to meet her! The Ukraine Relief Initiative here at home is still going strong and we will continue to raise funds and awareness to various projects over there. I'm sharing more posts via Facebook these days.
I'm pretty sure I have mentioned this service project in the past but our Zonta Club has been helping The House of Hope this past year with some of their WorkBee's. Here is a pic of one of my mentors Phyllis with Carol, and myself in the back ground. It was a fun day!
There is a bit of board overlap with some of the projects I am passionate about but I think that's just fine. I love to cross-promote whenever possible. I wasn't present the day of these next few photos but it was a project that was a year in the making. The House of Hope sent off THOUSANDS of shoes in July.
We collected them all year and bagged them up and set them off to the company that takes it from there. It's a fundraiser for the House of Hope while also helping those outside of the area.
We are planning to do this year-round again. I wish I could have been there that day but I was volunteering elsewhere.
Here are some random ALDI finds from months ago. I enjoyed them. The only problem is that I can usually only find them once and never again. Their Veggie Burgers are usually in stock but I don't really buy them too often. There are some ALDI finds from about a month ago that I will share in a separate post soon.
These were pretty FAB. Very rich. Very filling. I would buy these again for sure. They also had these...
They were also a winner. Fairly tangy! I couldn't get enough of raspberries this summer or raspberry flavor things! I think I am going to stop right there for now but I have LOTS of other things to post.
